Giulia Alletto
Biography
Born in 1999, Giulia Alletto earned her Second-Level Academic Diploma in Opera Singing with top marks, cum laude, and special mention “for her artistic, musical and expressive qualities” from the “Vincenzo Bellini” Conservatory in Caltanissetta in 2022. She further specialized at the Academy of the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa and was a student at the “Scuola dell’Opera” of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna.
Her 2025/26 season includes Roggiero in Rossini’s Tancredi at the Festival della Valle d’Itria, the Countess of Ceprano and the Page in Verdi’s Rigoletto at the Teatro Municipale di Piacenza, and Angelina in Rossini’s La Cenerentola at the Teatro di Lucca and the Teatro Comunale di Ferrara.
In 2025, she sang Rosina in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia at Teatro Regio di Torino for the Piccolo Regio season and performed the role of “Il Teatro” in the new composition Opera Amore (libretto by Alberto Mattioli, stage direction by Francesco Micheli, music by Federico Gon), produced by the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Culture.
In 2024, she debuted in Britten’s Phaedra, Rossini’s Giovanna d’Arco, and Chausson’s Poème de l’amour et de la mer at Teatro della Gioventù in Genoa. She later performed Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, appeared in a recital at Teatro Grande in Brescia, and took part in the “I giovani per Verdi” concert for the Verdi Off Festival in Parma. In October, she debuted the role of Tisbe in La Cenerentola at Teatro Rendano in Cosenza, and in November sang the role of Kätchen in Werther at Teatro Comunale di Bologna. In December, she performed Bach’s Magnificat with the Rossini Symphony Orchestra in Pesaro, Fermo, and Civitanova, and is also scheduled to perform in a Rossini gala concert at Teatro Rossini in Pesaro with the same orchestra.
In 2023, she took part in the national tour of Opera Domani (As.Li.Co production) as Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and performed Rosina at Teatro Verdi in Pisa in La bottega di Figaro by Gianluca Piombo, inspired by Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia.
In 2022, she made her debut as Angelina in La Cenerentola with the Europa InCanto company, performing in some of Italy’s most prestigious theaters: Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Auditorium della Conciliazione in Rome, Teatro Rendano in Cosenza, Teatro Romano in Ostia Antica, and Teatro Vespasiano in Rieti. In August, she sang Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro at Teatro Mancinelli in Orvieto, and in December performed as soloist in multiple performances of Vivaldi’s Gloria for Palermo Classica.
In 2019, she participated in the International Competition “I. Voltolini,” winning the “City of Curtatone” scholarship and the role of Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro. That same year, she debuted as Giovanna in Rigoletto at Teatro G. Verdi in Curtatone, and as Giovanna in Verdi’s Ernani at Teatro G. Verdi in Buscoldo.

Giulia Alletto offers a pleasing, fresh reading, rich in those fascinating evocations of the idealised exoticism of early twentieth-century Europe, with great care in phrasing and an assured sense of vocal weight — a particularly complex aspect in Ravel in general, and especially in these transcriptions for voice and piano of works originally conceived for larger forces. The greatest achievement lies precisely in capturing the interpretative intent with which these pages must be approached, while mastering material that is anything but compliant.
