Described as an artist of rare intelligence, endowed with a beautiful pure lyric soprano voice, Valentina Mastrangelo has an extraordinary stage presence and refined interpretative skills.

She studied with soprano Mariella Devia and she continues her further training with Fernando Cordeiro Opa.

She is invited by the most prestigious opera houses and international festivals such as the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, La Fenice in Venice, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Dubai Opera, the Macerata Opera Festival, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Theater Basel, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Wexford Festival, the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, the Teatro Verdi in Trieste and the New National Theater in Tokyo.

She has been esteemed and appreciated by conductors such as M. Arena, G. Bisanti, F. M. Carminati, I. Ciampa, G. Ferro, A. Fisch, F. Lanzillotta, S. Montanari, K. Ono, J. Santonja, D. Smith and directors such as M. Bauduin, R. Cucchi, O. Fredj, P. Gavazzeni, D. Livermore, P. Maranghi, D. Michieletto, E. Sagi, J. Spirei, G. Vick.

Roles performed in the previous season include include the debut of Mimì in La bohème at Teatro Coccia in Novara, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at Teatro Sociale in Rovigo, Musetta in La bohème at NNTT in Tokyo and Amelia Robsart in Bastarda at La Monnaie in Brussels.

Among the roles debuted were Inés in La favorite, Contessa Olga Sukarev in Fedora, Hanna Glawari in Die lustige Witwe, Donna Anna and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Susanna and Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro, Desdemona in Otello (Rossini), Musetta and Mimì in La bohème, Madama Cortese in Il viaggio a Reims, Tatyana in Yevgeny Onegin, Olivia in Le Songe d'une nuit d'été, Bettina in Miseria e Nobiltà, Soprano in C. Gounod’s Messe solennelle de sainte Cécile, Jungfrau in R. Schumann's Das Paradies und die Peri op. 50.

In addition to the opera repertoire, she is also passionate about the chamber music repertoire; in fact, she has recorded "Tosti The song of a life" for Brilliant Classics.

She further developed her repertoire at the Leopold Mozart Zentrum in Augsburg and at the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro, where she debuted her first role, Madama Cortese, at the Rossini Opera Festival.
